Alabama has great cooking shrimp and lots of them

Filed Under (Cooking Shrimp, Shrimp Recipes) by Kitt Carson on 11-05-2008

Check out this article on the great Alabama cook-off they sure were cooking shrimp.   The article is from an Alabama website I liked the article was just disappointed in in the lack of pictures.  When it comes to cooking shrimp the people of Alabama sure know what they are doing.  There was broiled shrimp, shrimp cocktail, shrimp and grits, and all sorts of amazing shrimp dishes.

I did locate a picture of the winners…but hence no names were given.  Congrats Chefs.5th Annual Shrimp Cook Off of Mobile, Alabama winners.

Classic Charleston Breakfast Shrimp, Shrimp and Grits!

Filed Under (Cooking Shrimp, Shrimp Recipes) by Kitt Carson on 11-05-2008

Nothing I love better than a Shrimp and Grits meal. You can eat shrimp and grits for dinner, you can eat it for lunch, or you can have it when you wake up…The best part of cooking shrimp with grits is that it is easy.

To begin cooking your shrimp and grits, I recomend you purchase Gullah Gourmet Shrimp and Grits Mix

then add water, shrimp, salt, and butter for a great meal for four…

But if you are looking to cook it all on your own from scratch i recommend Paula Dean’s recipe.

Cooking Shrimp and Loving It!

Filed Under (Cooking Shrimp) by Kitt Carson on 11-05-2008

I love shrimp. When I get to any restaurant, the first thing I look for on the menu is to see what type of shrimp dish(s) are being offered. The problem is you can not eat out every night, at least it is not economically practical for my lifestyle.

So I tried buying, pre-cooked frozen shrimp dinners and they were garbage, for the most part. (More to come on that later in a separate post). So I said let me try cooking my own shrimp. How hard can it be? Well after cooking my own shrimp for over ten years, it is a lot easier now than it was 10 years ago.

Well now, I am looking to share and gain knowledge about cooking shrimp. I am going to scourge the web for the best informative websites about cooking shrimp. Reviewing the websites for my readers, reviewing recipes, and more importantly keeping you in the shrimp cooking loop.

If you are new to cooking shrimp, check out this article on picking the best cooking shrimp.

With summer, around the corner, be sure to check out my Chili Shrimp with Basil Recipe. If you have a favorite dish you would like to share or would like to know my recipe for one of my favorite dishes just use the contact me here form.

Till Next time, Eat, cook, and love shrimp.
